Cary Ullman
Partner, Practice Group Leader
Cary has extensive domestic and international corporate and transactional legal experience with a specialization in FinTech. Her current practice focuses on providing fractional general counsel support to high growth fintech companies, as well as advising on bank partnerships, product counseling and embedded finance. Previous experience includes EMEA Head of Strategic Affairs and Risk - Legal, Chief of Staff to the General Counsel, Executive Director and Assistant General Counsel at J.P. Morgan Chase in London. She also worked in the Investment Banking Legal teams of Credit Suisse and Morgan Stanley. Cary began her career with Allen & Overy in the International Capital Markets and Corporate teams.
Alexander Gershen
Partner
Alexander serves as product counsel to early stage technology companies particularly in fintech and financial services, and is an experienced class action and regulatory litigator. Alexander represents clients at each stage of the product development process and regularly advises on lending, money transmission, and real estate related products and services. He also represents clients in state and federal litigation and in connection with regulatory enforcement and investigations. Prior to joining Scale, Alexander was an associate at an AmLaw 50 firm where he helped launch and grow a nationally recognized fintech practice.
Brian Scherer
Partner
Brian serves as product and privacy counsel to high-growth fintech, SaaS and proptech startups across all phases of the product development and go-to-market life cycle – from early-stage ideation and MVP, to marketing, sales, and negotiating partnerships and commercial agreements. Brian advises on topics including consumer underwriting and lending, credit reporting, data privacy, and consumer protection for consumer tech products and services. Prior to joining Scale, Brian was Product and Privacy Counsel at Blend Labs, a fintech SaaS provider to some of the world's largest banks and credit unions.
